TK4 Ι Piedra del Fraile - Torre Glacier Hike

Itinerario detallado

This trekking program begins in the Rio Eléctrico Valley with excellent views of the Marconi Pass. In the following days, we continue visiting each of the “classic” trekking trails to the south, getting finally to cerro Torre valley. To conclude, we have a full day glacier hike and ice climbing training on the wild glacier at the base of cerro Torre.
Nota: Solo para grupos en fechas cerradas

Day 0:
Reception of the group.

Day 1:
Trek from río Eléctrico – Piedra del Fraile with accommodation in the refuge. Optional hikes to Pollone river or Piedra Negra, etc.

Day 2:
Trek from Piedra del Fraile – Piedras Blancas Glacier – Laguna de los Tres and Laguna Capri

Day 3:
Trek Laguna Capri – Valley of lagunas Madre e Hija. Accommodation at cerro Torre camp

Day 4:
Cerro Torre Glacier hike and return to El Chaltén in the evening

• Waterproof breathable jacket with hood
• Waterproof over trousers
• Warm cap and sun cap
• Light and warm gloves
• Spare socks
• Trekking or training shoes
• 50 litres minimum
• Mountian boots for running shoes

• Plastic bags
• Sun-glasses
• Ski poles. A pair of telescopic poles ideally.
• Sunblock.
• Lips sunblock

For programs longer than 1 day

• Personal hygiene items
• Torch / headlamp
• Personal medicines
• Spare clothes


• Reception at El Chaltén
• All transfers in the program around el Chaltén
• Professional mountain guide during the whole program
• Camps with services (except Camp Toro)
• All meals the hikes and at the camps
• All necessary technical and overnight equipment (insulating mat, sleeping-bag, tent)
• Permanent communication and coordination from our office at El Chaltén
• Insurances and permits

• El Calafate - El Chaltén - El Calafate bus tickets (see complementary services)
• Personal equipment (you could rent this gear with discounts as a client at our store)
• Accommodation not mentioned above
• Personal porters (just under request, ask for prices and weights)
